An Open Letter to My Baby

Dear Baby,

The moment I found out that I am indeed carrying you in my womb, I was ecstatic, and so was your daddy. I thought you’d never come yet I thanked God for finally entrusting you to me.

Today you turn forty seven days old. Your nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to shape. Your heart is beating almost twice as mine and your blood is beginning to course through your body. Right now, you are just about a size of a bean but for me, you are the most amazing growing miracle in the world!

You will be born in November, baby. You will grow inside me and then be born. Then you will grow up. If you are a girl, you will be a beautiful woman, passionate and devoted like mommy. But, more than likely, you will be a boy and grow up to be a man, an intelligent and principled man like daddy.

You will bring me unlimited joy and a cause for worry (hopefully sometimes lang) and there will be times when you and I will exchange words we don’t mean. But in the end, you will be my child and I, your mother.

For the the time being, you and I are going to make a great team as we go through this pregnancy. I will religiously take my vitamins, eat healthy food, and drink nourishing milk and fruit juices to provide you with necessary nutrients. I will protect you with all my might from the harshness of negativities. In return, I ask you to hold on tightly to mommy and listen to what mommy says, okay? We will make it through together.

I always tell you that love you, anak. I really do. I live to love you. You are my heaven's gift.

Kisses,
Mommy Jane

My Special Prayer

I praise you my God for you are my creator and savior. You alone is my God, my great provider, and my best friend.

Thank you for every good and perfect blessing comes from you most especially for the gift of motherhood. I am happy that I am pregnant, God. You have blessed me with a baby. I thank you for that with all my heart.

God, you said all that you create or created is good. I have faith that my baby is already formed in my womb by your workmanship and created in true perfection according to your power.

I promise you that I will be a great mom, God. I will raise and take care of my child for your glory. Please protect us from all evils. Bless me and my baby with good health, sound mind, and happy heart.

All these I ask in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Amen.
